Deezer Metadata Guide: Delivery Specs, Required Fields and Profile Fixes

Updated 2026-10-21 · 3 sources

Short answer

Deezer receives releases through distributors, preferably as DDEX 4.3 with FLAC audio. Every release needs a UPC, every track an ISRC, main and featured artists properly separated, explicit flags, and at least one writer role per track. Deezer tags albums with fully AI-generated tracks itself. Wrong-artist-page problems are reported as a Discography issue in Deezer for Creators.

Delivery requirements

  • Audio: FLAC preferred, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz, 2 channels; minimum MP3 128 kbps [1].
  • Formats: DDEX 3.x (preferably 3.8), 4.1 or 4.3 (preferably 4.3) [1].
  • Artwork: PNG or JPEG, 500×500 to 4096×4096 px, up to 32 MB [1].
  • Metadata: UPC, ISRCs, main and featured artists separated, release date, territories, explicit flags, and at least one of Composer-Lyricist, Composer, Lyricist, Author, Writer or NonLyricAuthor per track [1].
  • Covers need licensing of the original composition; your distributor can help [1].

AI tagging

Deezer shows a notice on albums that may contain AI-generated tracks and excludes AI content from recommendations [2]. See Deezer AI tagging.

Fixing artist pages

Report a Discography issue in Deezer for Creators with the incorrect page URL, the correct artist name and the album URLs. Deezer can change only the capitalization or accents of a name; other name changes come from your distributor [3].
