YouTube Music Metadata Guide: Art Tracks, Topic Channels and Corrections
Updated 2026-10-21 · 3 sources
Short answer
On YouTube Music your release becomes Art Tracks: YouTube auto-generates them from the audio, artwork and metadata your distributor delivers, identified by ISRC, UPC and partner. Corrections are requested by the delivering label or distributor in Studio Content Manager, so send fixes to them. To bring your Topic channel and your own channel together, ask your distributor for an Official Artist Channel.
Art Tracks
- An Art Track is an automatically generated YouTube version of an album track: the sound recording plus the album art [1].
- YouTube creates one Art Track per unique combination of ISRC, release identifier (UPC, EAN or GRid) and partner [1], so keep codes consistent.
- These features are for label and distributor partners delivering through YouTube's DDEX feed (ERN 3.6+) [1].
Fixing wrong information
Art Track information comes from the delivered metadata. Partners can use Request change for issues such as the wrong artist channel, wrong primary or featured artist, or spelling, formatting or translation errors [2].
Official Artist Channel
An OAC merges subscribers from your Topic channel and your own channel. You need a channel you own and operate and at least one official release delivered by a distributor or label, and you request it through your label or distributor [3].

FAQ
Can I edit an Art Track myself?
No. Art Tracks are generated from your distributor's delivery, and change requests come from the partner that delivered them.
Why is my music on another artist's channel?
Usually a shared or similar artist name. Ask your distributor to request a change for 'Art track is not associated with the desired artist channel'.
